Sizes and Measurements

Sizes are different between manufacturers and time eras. Please go by listed measurements for an accurate fit.

Measurements listed for each item are of the item itself. This is not to be confused with your body's measurements. Please allow room for movement and comfort.

The measurements we give are approximate. We do not guarantee them to be scientifically accurate but they should be very close to actual size.

Please note when we list measurements such as collar, chest or waist - we are giving the measurement all the way around unless otherwise noted. For example, for the chest measurement, we measure across the chest and then double that measurement to give the actual chest measurement of the item. The chest measurement of the item is usually about two to six inches larger than the wearer's chest size depending on the style of the item, but could be more if it's something meant to be worn loose.

Compare the measurements we give to a similar item you own that fits you well to ensure a good fit.

For example, if you are looking for a Hawaiian shirt, find a Hawaiian shirt in your closet that fits you well and measure that item to compare. A quarter or half an inch difference here and there shouldn't make a big difference in how an item fits you.

Different types of items are meant to be worn differently so don't compare measurements of dissimilar items.

We recommend you use a fabric tape measure. You can buy one cheap at most drug stores or supermarkets or a fabric store.
